What do you wish you had learned in law school?
I wish I had learned more about the business of law and expectations regarding marketing and developing a book of business to be successful in private practice.
What do you like the most about your practice area?
I love the in-depth learning that occurs regarding a specific medical issue in a case or a legal practice area outside of my own.
Please share a positive experience you’ve had as a lawyer.
Learning from gifted and passionate trial lawyers who have a sense of humor about themselves and the profession.
What do you think is the most essential professional skill?
Empathy.
How has the CBA impacted your career?
I’ve met wonderful people through the CBA and formed lifelong friendships and professional relationships. The educational material provided by the CBA is also invaluable.
If you weren’t a lawyer, you’d be?
A veterinarian or animal sanctuary owner.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Rewatching comfort shows I have seen many times (Grey’s Anatomy).
What’s your favorite way to unwind?
With my three Newfoundlands and three cats cuddling on the couch with me.
Favorite travel memory:
I took my sister to see Taylor Swift’s last Eras Tour show in Vancouver. We spent the weekend fully immersed in Taylor Swift lore, in a beautiful city, with other Taylor Swift fans who were just as thrilled as we were to be there experiencing the vibes.
What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever seen in person?
Lake Louise in Banff.
Current favorite TV show/movie:
The Pitt.
What do you daydream about?
Living on lots of land with lots of rescued animals.
What skill would you like to master?
Running, lol. I’ve run dozens of half-marathons and still don’t feel like I’ve mastered it.
What is something you’ve always wanted to learn?
Piano.
What is one thing you tried that you’ll never do again?
Cliff jumping.
Who knows you best?
My sister.
If you could trade places with anyone for a week, who would it be?
My cat, Omar. He lives the life of royalty.
What do you think is the most essential life skill?
Admitting when you’ve made a mistake.
