Samuel Bryan Moore

November 7, 1944–September 19, 2024

Samuel Bryan MooreSamuel Bryan Moore Jr., known to many as “Bulldog,” passed away on September 19, 2024, just shy of his 80th birthday. Born in Beaumont, Texas, and raised in McAllen, Texas, Bryan attended both undergraduate and law school at the University of Texas, Austin.

He began his legal career as an assistant district attorney in Hidalgo County before transitioning to private practice in Dallas, Texas. During his time in Dallas, where he and his wife Janet lived for several years, Bryan also served as a county court judge in Dallas County for four years.

In 1985, Bryan and Janet moved to Colorado, where he continued practicing law until his passing. His passion for oration and journalism, first displayed in high school through debate and his sports byline in the McAllen Monitor, remained with him throughout his life. Bryan maintained a busy legal practice and was a dedicated advocate for workers’ rights, often lobbying at the Colorado State Capitol.

Bryan had a deep love for sports, history, sharp humor, and classic literature, particularly Steinbeck and Hemingway. He cherished both long-standing friendships and the new connections he made along the way.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; his sister, Ruth Moore Roberts; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers.

Jeremy Love Swift

January 11, 1978–March 13, 2025

Jeremy Love SwiftJeremy Love Swift, 47, passed away peacefully at his home in Westminster on March 13, 2025. A beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Jeremy lived a life defined by compassion, intellect, humor, and an unwavering commitment to others.

Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Jeremy was the cherished son of Carol Hinshaw Swift and David Henry Swift and Susan Swift. He was a devoted brother to Jason, Joshua, Justin, and Erin Bloom. His legacy continues through his 11 adoring nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and friends across Colorado, Kansas City, and around the world.

A gifted student, Jeremy graduated from Blue Valley High School in 1996, delivering the student commencement address. He went on to earn his degree in International Studies at Pittsburg State University, completing additional majors and minors. Jeremy deepened his global understanding through immersive studies in Spain at the University of Salamanca and in Guatemala with a host family in Antigua.

After college, Jeremy taught English to university students in Shanghai, China. He held a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and approached life with discipline, excellence, and heart.

Jeremy earned his law degree magna cum laude from Syracuse University School of Law. He was named to the prestigious Order of the Coif and served on the Law Review. He clerked for Judge Elizabeth Brown at the US Bankruptcy Court before launching a distinguished litigation career. As a shareholder at Treece Alfrey Musat and later a partner at Freeman Mathis & Gary, Jeremy was nationally recognized for his work in insurance coverage litigation and served in executive leadership with the Harmonie Group.

Outside the courtroom, Jeremy was equally extraordinary. He was a dedicated marathon runner, a published novelist (under the name Steven T. Stevenson), and a self-taught musician. In just three years, he learned guitar, bass, and drums—mastering over 30 songs and performing some, like “Like a Stone,” “Zombie,” and “Back in Black,” on all three instruments.

Jeremy gave endlessly to those around him. He lived with quiet strength, kindness, and a sharp wit that brightened every room. His legacy of generosity, brilliance, and love will live on in those who knew him.

Donations in Jeremy’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, stjude.org/givehope.
