“Creative Corner” provides opportunities for Colorado lawyers to share their creativity with the legal community. Fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, photography, artwork, and all other creative expressions will be considered for publication. Creative works related to the law or law practice are specifically encouraged.
- Submissions should be sent to the Creative Corner coordinating editor. Please include the name and bar number of the author or artist.
- The coordinating editor will review the submission to determine whether it is suitable for Colorado Lawyer and, if so, whether it will be published in the print edition of the magazine, in the online edition, or both.
- Please provide one submission at a time and no more than four submissions each calendar year.
- Please do not submit previously published material or excerpts from such works.
- All submissions must be original works by the submitting individual. Works submitted anonymously or on behalf of another person will not be accepted.
- If approved, authors will be asked to sign a license agreement that gives Colorado Lawyer permission to publish the work in the print magazine and on the Colorado Lawyer website. Authors retain copyright of their work and may republish their work in other media.
- Colorado Lawyer is mindful of the publication’s role in promoting civility and professionalism and reserves the right to accept or reject any submission. Submissions that fail to meet publication standards; contain obscenities; include personal attacks; use language that may be deemed defamatory, derogatory, abusive, or otherwise offensive; denigrate the legal profession; are inconsistent with the objectives of the CBA; or otherwise violate ethical standards will not be published.
