T.L.P. v. People in Interest of T.T.M.P.
2026 CO 61. No. 25SC680.
September 14, 2026
In this case, the supreme court concluded that an order dismissing a dependency and neglect petition is final and appealable when, during the dependency and neglect proceeding, the court issued a temporary custody order that was adverse to a parent and changed the placement of a child, and so the dismissal effectively rendered the temporary order permanent. The court reversed the court of appeals’ order dismissing the case for lack of jurisdiction and remanded the case to the court of appeals for further proceedings.
